The Brightling Village Trust is a charity set up in 1987.

It exists to support charitable purposes in Brightling and can make grants to individuals and to relieve hardship. This gives the trustees discretion to support a wide range of activities which will benefit people in Brightling and which are not otherwise supported.

Most recently, we have purchased a new set of bell ropes for the Church at a cost of around £1,500. We put on various activities from time to time – for example, a quiz in the autumn of 2018 raised over £800.

We always welcome suggestions for grants that the Trust should consider making, and indeed donations or proposals for raising funds.

Trustees are Charles Everett (Chair), Mark Bridge (Treasurer), Nicola Magill (Trust Secretary), David Gasson, Brian Holliday and Bob Howell.
