Planting a tree for the Jubilee: Friday 11 March, 10:00 am at the Mount Triangle – Brightling, East Sussex – village website

On Friday 11th March, Andrew Wedmore, as Chair of the Parish Council, will be planting a walnut tree as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. This initiative is running in tandem with the Queen’s Green Canopy project, but forms part of a national event arranged by NACO – the National Association of Civic Officers.

The date was chosen as the 70th day of the 70th year, and all those taking part will be listed in a bound book, that will be presented to the Queen later in the year.

If anyone would like to witness this historic event, we will be planting at 10am on the grassy triangle up by The Mount, where a tree was planted to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Come and join us!
