Brightling Café is back this Saturday 25th September 10am-midday  … and all drinks and cake are free!!

Judy Asselton will be providing cakes for the café and will also have a stall selling cakes, savouries and preserves.

When we re-opened in May we decided to turn Brightling Market into Brightling Café for the rest of 2021 for social distancing/Covid reasons but also because a number of stallholders, including Lighthouse Bakery breads, were no longer available to take a stall.

We now need to start thinking about what we want to do in 2022. Do we want to bring back Brightling Market or keep Brightling Café? We need your views.

If we are to bring back the market, to be successful it has to be supported and of genuine interest to a broad range of local people. And the market, or café, need more people to help run them.

We will be holding an open discussion in the Café at 11am, so please come along and give us your views.

Nicole Livingstone Smith and Katrina Blench (who organises café helpers) have put together a short questionnaire, which includes ideas for different options and events, which you can access here: https://brightling.community/cafe-survey-2021/.  Alternatively, if you would prefer to send an email expressing your views, please email Nicole at nlsbowen@gmail.com

Lets hope this gets a good conversation going, and that the legacy of covid will bring something new and exciting to our village and community.
