A Book on Brightling

This book by John Watts, tells the story of the character of Brightling. It recalls village life in all its warmth and hardship, from when his mother Norah Watts (Widow Watty as Gardie Grissell called her affectionately) moved into the old School House in the 1950s until her death in 1986. You will not get facts and figures, but an overwhelming sense of atmosphere which makes you regret that you were not around to experience it.

Available from The Post Office at Netherfield and from The Battle Bookshop £15
