Annual village meeting 2022: tomorrow (Wednesday 6 April), in the Village Hall, at 7:30 pm. Free refreshments. Put your questions about power cuts to a representative from UK Power Networks. Meet the local police. Hear from the parish council. – Brightling, East Sussex – village website

For the first time since 2019, Brightling will be holding a live, in person, village meeting.

This is partly a social occasion – a chance to chat to people that you may not see every day – but also an opportunity to hear (and give your views) about things going on in the village.

There will be wine and soft drinks and light refreshments. There is no charge.

Everyone in the parish of Brightling is very welcome, and we do hope to see as many people as possible. Past village meetings have been both fun and interesting.

What is being done about power cuts?

There will be a short talk from Tom Miles of UK Power Networks, who will be talking about local power cuts and what UKPN are doing to reduce them. Do come along and ask him a (polite) question.

Meet the police

We also expect to have a representative from the police, to talk about policing in our community.

Parish Council

The chair of the Parish Council will talk briefly (very briefly, I promise) about what the Parish Council has been up to. There will also be an update on the broadband project.

Village organizations

Representatives from various village organizations will be around. We don’t ask each of them to give a speech because there isn’t enough time, but they will be providing information and will be on hand to talk to people.
