Titles should always be mixed case, never all upper-case. See https://accessiblebydesign.co.uk/journal/dont-use-all-caps-a-case-study/
Try and space posts out in time. A minimum of two or three days between posts is ideal, so that there are not usually more than two posts per week in total on the site. This will avoid people feeling that they are getting “too many” posts from the Brightling site, and unsubscribing.
Look at the “All posts” page (https://brightling.community/wp-admin/edit.php ) to see if other people have posted very recently, or have scheduled posts for the near future. Then slot your own post in so as not to have a spate of posts in a short time.
Of course, if a post needs to go live immediately, then ignore these constraints and post immediately.
Posts should be of general interest to Brightling residents. For this reason, avoid posting “Lost and Found” unless the item is of unusual interest – because we would be emailing 150 people about something that is only really of interest to one person. The ideal post will be Brightling-specific and contain information that can’t readily be found elsewhere.
Try and include a picture with every post or page. Pictures should be taken by you, or have the written permission of the copyright holder (this includes “Creative Commons” licencing, where an acknowledgement in the required form must be included). Otherwise, avoid “scraping” pictures off the internet. Just because something is “in the public domain” does not mean that it is copyright-free. For example, other magazines have got into trouble for reproducing diagrams from planning applications on the Rother District Council website.
