SOLD OUT: Free hedge-laying workshop
An announcement from Isabel Lloyd
[Updated 15 November 2024: this event is now sold out. Email isbeloid@gmail.com if you would like to go on the waiting list. Please note: this is not a hedgelaying workshop – the technique demonstrated incorporates some elements of laying, but is not suitable for anyone who wishes to learn the traditional craft of pleaching]
On November 28th, those interested can join a free workshop at Limden Brook Farm in Etchingham, looking at a new(ish) technique for hedgerow regeneration that is eligible for Farming in Protected Landscapes funding, has high wildlife benefits, but is also quite a bit quicker and easier than traditional hedge-laying. The results are also pretty much browse-proof, which is a plus!

- • Increases hedgerow carbon-capture
- • Is eligible for FiPL finding
The FREE workshop will include:
- • Tour of hedges that have been treated this way in previous years
- • Live demonstration of the technique and tools used
- • Explanation of environmental and economic benefits
- • Advice on applying for funding
- • Plus free lunch and hot drinks!
- 28 November, 10.45am-2pm, Limden Brook Farm, Etchingham
