Our next Robertsbridge & Brightling Repair Café is this Saturday 11 April in Robertsbridge Village Hall from 9.00am until 12.00.
It looks as though Spring may finally be here, and many of you were probably gardening over the bank holiday. Don’t forget, for a small donation per tool, you can have your tools sharpened by our dynamic duo – volunteers Eric and Paul. (They can’t sharpen powered tools such as chainsaws or hedge cutters).
If, when you finally opened the shed, you found some old tools (garden and DIY) that you no longer need, please bring them along to us and we can donate them to Tools with a Mission – TWAM – who use them to create trade toolkits to send to Africa. If you have a large amount (eg a shed or workshop full) TWAM can arrange for someone to collect them. Just ask us for details on Saturday.
If you are a regular, you will have noticed our newest volunteer in the electrical section – Henry. We are looking for other youngsters to join him (age 15 and above) who have a keen interest in fixing things. They can work alongside and learn from our expert volunteers in the electrical, fabric and woodwork sections with the aim of joining our team on a regular basis when they get to 16. If you know of anyone, please let us know.
We hope to see you this Saturday 11 April. Please don’t leave it until the last minute to arrive as our volunteers need time to fix your item. Our doors open at 9am.
