Notice of Public Rights and Publication of AGAR for 2019/20
Every year the Parish Council must publish a set of documents containing governance statements and key accounting figures. Known previously as the Annual Return it was rebadged as the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR). Furthermore, smaller authorities may exempt themselves from the requirement to send the AGAR for external audit provided certain conditions are met. However, the return must still be published in full and made available for inspection on request during a period of 30 business days. Legislative changes have been made as a result of the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus for the 2019/20 reporting year which mean that there is no requirement for a common period for public rights. The period for the exercise of public rights must however commence on or before 1 September 2020.
Accordingly, you may view the following documents here:
201920_Explanation of Rights – a statement of your public rights
201920_Notice of Public Rights – the statutory notice telling you the dates between which you may inspect the accounts.
