Wonderful though Brightling is, one does occasionally need to get out and I am very excited by the new “Coastal Currents 2017” brochure which I picked up recently. This is Hastings and St Leonards own arts festival which runs from 1st September to 1st October. Many events, installations, and performances, many of them free, none of them expensive and all going to prove my theory that “Hastings is the new Brighton”.
It all kicks off with the (free) party in St Marys-in-the-Castle followed later the same evening by an “after-party” at the PrintWorks (the old Observer building, now imaginatively re-purposed). Worth going just for the ambience of those two venues. Visit coastalcurrents.org.uk or pick up a printed brochure from somewhere).
