After four happy years as your clerk I’ve decided that the time has come to pass on the baton. Although I was delighted to once be accorded the title of Honorary Brightlinger I am even more delighted to tell you that my successor is a real Brightlinger. Mrs Gilly Lowe lives in the village and takes over the role on 1st April 2019. Gilly says, “Although a little daunted at the thought of stepping into Brian’s shoes, I am looking forward to taking on the role of Parish Clerk. We moved into Brightling in August 2017, from Broad Oak, near Heathfield. We have moved a few times but always been a stone’s throw from Heathfield. We knew Brightling a little and now we’re very happy to be here!” The address for the parish clerk remains unchanged as firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a vacancy on Brightling Parish Council which needs to be filled and here is a link to the formal notice of the vacancy existing. If the period of notice expires without the call for an election, the Parish Council will need to co-opt someone so now is the time to express your interest. You can contact the clerk by email to email@example.com
